June News – 2022
Hello, hope everyone is doing well and getting into the ‘swing’!
Periodically we like to send messages to be sure our members are in touch with what our league is up to!
Attached is the list of Golfers that have registered for 2022. If you know someone who should be on the list that isn’t please share this message to get them signed up 😊😊
See below a message from our Club President, Handicap Coordinator; and Captains of the 9 hole and 18-hole leagues.
From the President – Bonnie Ottenbreit – Once again welcome back to our loyal lady’s club members. Hope all is going well in your game. Whatever golf means to you, we are excited to have you as part of our membership family! We especially want to thank the TWELVE (12) new members to our leagues, let me personally welcome you to our Club on behalf of the Regina Beach Ladies Golf Club. We realize that the weather has been up and down (just like our game some days) but we have a great course that is getting in really good shape. Right now, we have 77 registered. As always, do not hesitate to bring ideas/suggestions to myself or any board member. We are here to serve the membership in whatever way we can. Have a great June of golfing!
From the Handicap Coordinator – Tressa Bosley – Ever wonder what your golf handicap tells you? A golf handicap is a number that is a measurement of your ability over a round of golf. It is a way to level the playing field amongst players of different abilities. The lower the handicap, the better the golfer. For example, if your Gross Score (total strokes taken during the round) was 84 and your Course Handicap is 10, then you would take your gross score (84) minus your Course Handicap (10) which gives you a Net Score of 74 for the round. If your fellow golfer shot a Gross Score of 105 and their handicap was 28, then their Net Score would be 77. As you can see the Net Score for both golfers are much closer than their Gross Scores and therefore levels the playing field regardless of ability.
Message from your captains!
9 Hole Ladies Golf
Well, we off to a great start. As of June 1, we will have played 3 rounds. We’ve wined! had some fun games, a serious round, raised money for a local charity and been rained out once! Some have been lucky enough to take home some 50/50 winnings too. Our membership continues to grow with many new members and additional 18-hole golfers joining us weekly. We look forward to many more getting out as the season progresses. Continue to look at your weekly Sunday emails so you know what to expect each week.
We hope you are enjoying yourselves!

18 Hold Ladies Golf
Greetings ladies. We have had some challenging weather conditions but for the most part have demonstrated our prairie resilience. We are very pleased to have so many new members. We now have a group of 30 players that play on Monday mornings. Our group donated $200 to Ronald McDonald House, a very worthwhile cause. Thanks go to Karen Cumbers for handling the 50/50 duties. The ringer board has been started. We played the 1st of 5 rounds of the Forster Low Net competition on May 30. Watch for the competition listed each week when you receive your tee time email. June tee times will begin at 9:00. Please continue to text me if there are any last-minute changes to be made so I can adjust our groups.
Looking forward to some great weather, awesome company & more fun times on the links!!
Yvonne
