September News – 2022

Hope you are ready for BACK-TO-SCHOOL September and the season of FALL for golfing!

See below this month’s news from our Club’s President, Handicap Coordinator, Captains of the 9 hole and 18-hole leagues and our Social Coordinators:

From the President – Bonnie Ottenbreit – The regular season is beginning to wind down and hopefully the weather in September will continue to be favourable. Thanks to all our volunteers who keep our club moving along. The recent Trilogy & Club Championship were truly a success. We look forward to our next event – the Fall Meeting & Awards – our Social Coordinators will have more on this event in this newsletter. Of course we will be looking for a few volunteers to fill open positions on the Executive Committee – please consider and perhaps reach out before the meeting if there is a role you wish to fill. Finally, do not hesitate to bring ideas/suggestions to myself or any board member. We are here to serve the membership in whatever way we can. Enjoy your September!

From the Handicap Coordinator – Tressa Bosley – I am happy to report that we have been able to use our member’s golf handicaps for creating teams for our Mixed Tournament, Trilogy and Club Championship. This allowed the organizers the ability to create teams which were fair and levelled the playing field. I want to encourage our members to continue entering their scores into Golf Canada. It is also a great way to track progress of your individual game!

Message from your captains!

‘If your opponent can’t remember if she shot a six or a seven on a hole, chances are she had an eight on it.”

Our season is winding down. August 24 was our last competition week and winners will be determined. August 31 is our Green & White day and four club challenge. On September 7 we will have our Fun Day/Wind Up. There are lots of prizes available for the 9-hole golfers. We do plan to play later into September as weather permits.

From the Social Coordinators – Susan Raddysh & Betty Holt – It’s time to book your calendar for the last social event of the season with the Regina Beach Ladies Golf Club. We listened to you the members and have moved the Fall Meeting & Awards to the lower level of the Waterfront Beach Bar & Grill. The date is September 21, 2022 with cocktails beginning at 4:00 pm and the meal to be served at 6:00 pm. There will be two menu options – beef or chicken (the beef is gluten free) and you will have a choice of salad. The cost to you is $20 as the RBLGC will subsidize the cost of the meal. The registration link will be sent out under separate cover. Etransfers will be accepted for payment prior to September 14, 2022. Once again there will be 50/50 cash sales and you will be responsible for your own refreshment bill.
